Looking for anyone that might have some information concerning the ME109(s) and the two ME262 aircraft that were sent to Canada. Working on a paper concerning the ME109 that was sent to Canada by Lord Beaverbrook for use of the IODE (W.Nr1190). Looking for material in the National Archives concerning this aircraft and possibly some other ME109s that were sent to Canada.

As well, myself and Erl Cromie are seeking any material on the 2 ME262s that were sent to Canada in 1946. One aircraft was burned and scrapped and the other was buried a few hundred feet away from the Toronto Aerospace Museum's backdoor.

I would be interested in hearing from anyone that might have some clues concerning any ME109s that came to Canada during or after WWII. Can anyone help????

Hi Lee,

I have Me 262A-2a, W.Nr. 500210, yellow 17 of 1/JG7 scrapped in 1947 and Me 262A-1, W.Nr. 111690, white 5 of 1/JG7 scrapped in 1949.
The Me 109, W.Nr. 1190, was sent back to England and was restored. See this link:
