From 12 O'Clock High!:

Institut fuer Flugmedizin

Does anyone have any details as to what particular work the DVL's Institut fuer Flugmedizin undertook from 1942 - 1944. It seems to me they were particularly concerned with stresses and strains upon the pilot of various types of flight and flight conditions, testing for g-forces etc, but I am more than willing to stand corrected. The gentleman I am particularly interested in is Dr.med. Hans Wiesehoefer who was also a qualified pilot and undertook a lot of his own testing. Bar a couple of short documents I have not turned anything up much. His son only had a few photos but not regrettably his Flugbuch. There are some interesting reports at the DVfLR but these mainly cover pre-war accidents and such like.

I'm interested to hear from anyone who can enlighten me further.
