Manufacture of more than one aircraft type in a single production facility
From 12 O'Clock High!:
Jason Aircraft Production Question Wed Mar 17 12:28:50 2024 171.159.192.10 Did aircraft factories produce more than one type at a time on different lines within the same factory. I know many manufacturers had more than one plant, but some companies seemed to be producing several different types at any given time. I was wondering if a site produced only 1 type of aircraft or many. I'm just trying to find out how factories were structured. |

Eduardo Producton Line Wed Mar 17 14:45:13 2024 200.98.57.70 Thatīs right. The German factories did produce more then one type of aircraft at the same time in the same factory. For example, there is a photo of two types of Me 110 (C and D-1) that were built in the same production line. Thatīs why the Me 110 Wrn blocks were so confused. |

David Ransome Production lines.......... Thu Mar 18 14:00:15 2024 195.92.194.11 ...and there are many photos clearly showing licence built aircraft under construction alongside manufacturers own types, such as Heinkel 111s alongside Junkers 52s at the Junkers plant. Regards David |
