RLM-Farben can offer authentic historic paints for aircraft, motor vehicles, ships, and models, as seen in the section entitled Anwendungen (Applications). Four examples with color photos are shown of the following aircraft that have had RLM-Farben colors applied:
Focke-Wulf Fw 190 of the Flugzeugmuseums Laatzen-Hannover Messerschmitt Bf 110 of the Technikmuseums Berlin during rollout DFS 230 fuselage of the Luftlandegeschwaders 1 (LLG 1), Wertheim Jumo 210 for Messerschmitt Bf 109 B, Bf 109 B - restoration group Udet U10 of the Technikmuseums Berlin - no photo as of yet Under the section entitled Quellen (Sources) are available two Zip documents in MS-Excel format. The following is an Altavista translation from the RLM-Farben site that discusses these tables: "Our colours and lacquers are not the result of amateurful searches, but in autoritative excerpt of scientific research: We analyse only the historical truth excluding primary sources and feel obligated. Special field can you considered the up-to-date knowledge status in this so far little our table Oberflächenschutzverfahren und Anstrichstoffe (Surface protection procedure and coating materials) (In the MS Excel format) infer, which we constantly further-maintain. In a second table named Schrifttum (bibliography) we reveal the consulted sources (regulations and other documents). For unpacking the ZIP files compressed in form you need supplied tables a program such as WinZip." The above is followed with 3 examples from historical documents, with the following commentary: "In our extensive file numerous original documents are like those shown color card here from the 1930er years (you click on one of the small preview pictures to see around an increased figure). We create our expert's assessments and our production without exception on original and indisputable sources like these!" I downloaded the 2 Zip files and for those interested in the actual historic information on establishing what aircraft colors to use where, these will prove to be an undoubted boon. Hardly complete, but fascinating nonetheless. The Links section lists a variety of links from one dealing specifically with color to restorations, history, museums, artwork, and modeling. Michael Gorman Jürgen Kiroff Fri Oct 22, 2024 14:40 81.130.47.211 Hallo Sergio, Jürgen Kiroff operates a small company ( www.rlm-farben.de ) specialising in accurate (chemically as well as colour) modern renditions of wartime RLM paints (for full size aircraft). He seems to have a scholarly approach, and is very concerned with research into original finishes. I have used his Flieglack 7122 in RLM 02 and RLM 66 in my restoration work, and found them very good. Obviously, I do not know exactly what his involvement in the new book has been, but I think it should contribute significantly. Michael |
