Losses on 31.12.44

File RL2 III/1171 at the bundesarchiv-Militärarchiv at Freiburg will give you the day and night fighter losses for 24–31 December 1944. After that, you may find some fragmentary information in the Generalquartiermeister 6. Abteilung records (originals at Freiburg, microfilm copies at the Imperial war Museum in London) but only in the form of corrections, updates or late reports since the actual 1944 returns are missing.

RL 2 III file numbers

Hi!

If You look up my pages on

http://www.stormbirds.com/eagles

You will find directions to which files hold the information You are interested in.

It is important to understand the way the Germans reported their losses, and a loss that occured on 31.12.1944 would not have been reported before January 1st 1945 as the earliest possible date. In addition, losses for this date could be spread out over months in the 1945 loss lists, depending on where the unit in question was located with regards to possibility to send in their loss data fast to the Generalquartiermeister office.

If You are looking for specific info, pls contact me.

Regards,

Andreas Brekken

Hi all !

I have just finished 'LUMA' which is an Excel based complete LW gridmap converter.
Take a look to Andreas Brekkens and SES'S websites in the coming days,
where it will be posted for free download.
Don't forget to read the .pdf file 'LUMA Guide' which gives help for using the
Excel program.

Your feedback is appreciated.
Enjoy !

Cheers Drew, but this is one reference that I'd already found.

The webpage gives I/ZG2 emblem, but can anyone confirm this was used during the Battle of Britain, and did ZG1 & 2/ZG1 have their own emblems that were used during the battle?

Geoff.
