This webpage presents a very good overview of the PoW camps in Great Britain. It includes photos, a map showing where all the camps were located, a plan of a typical camp, and a list of all the camps. The webpage address is:

German POW Escapes.

Hi folks.

I have just found the website on German Pow's and find much to my amazement and delight, that Von Werra was NOT the only POW to escape from British Captivity. Apparently two German Pow's escaped from a camp in UK and made it back to Germany. Is this info accurate? It would be great to know that more than one made it back, apart from some who were exchanged for one reason or another. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Regards
Alan.

I typed in LUFTWAFFE POWS into my browser and there came up a long list of websites. The one I looked through had GERMAN PRISONERS OF WAR IN BRITAIN as heading and showed a picture of Waffen SS prisoners. Gives great detail of POW camps in Britain and other info.

Live Long and Prosper

Alan.
