Hans Ploes Hans.Ploes@t-online.de parts Fri Jan 11 00:38:44 2024 Hello R8-109-03128cbl 33554 belongs to a Bf 109. R8-109-03128 is a part of the installation of the rudder pedals. cbl: manufacturer of the part -> Vereinigte Deutsche Metallwerke A.-G., Zweigniederlassung Suedeutsche Metallindustrie, Nuernberg W 20 33554: actually 3355.4 is the German code for the material e.g. 3xxx are light metalls, x355 is the alloy type in this case a Hydronalium alloy (Al-Mg). The .4 means that the alloy was hardened. R8-88 is from a Ju 88. Is this the complete number? If so it must be one of the main dataplates. mdr: Vereinigte Leichtmetallwerke G.m.b.H., Werk Bonn OK, maybe 96220 is the missing part of the number. Than the complete number is: R8-88.962-20. This would be a part of the general equipment of the Ju 88. Concerning the last part I can't say very much beside D3307 is the post war zip code for Schöppenstedt. So it is definitely not WW II. Sincerely Hans |

For comments on the location of the ID plate and Werknummer on a Bf 109, the reader is referred to the "Archives in the Mediterranean region" forum, "Museums with Luftwaffe aircraft" topic.

Lynn, with a little info It's a VDM 9-12153 blade... Tue Nov 30, 2024 17:03 216.49.69.242 The 9- isndicates an airframe component code, as I recall, and VDM is the manufacturer (Vereinigte Deutsche Metallwerke). This was the standard 190 prop blade until the wider paddle blade introduced with the A-9. No idea if they subcontracted prop blade development, and I don't know what the rest of the numbers indicate... so I'm afraid that's not too much help at all. :-/ Lynn |
