Peter Ocker dudu29ff@aol.com colored pics of german gliders Sat Aug 3 00:16:28 2024 195.93.66.12 Dear friends, i am searching for colored pics of german gliders till 1945 like Grunau Baby, Weihe and Habicht. Can anybody help me ? Also, I am searching a good quality copy of pilot's manual for the Weihe glider (printed before 1945), as I'm the owner of the famous Weihe D-0700, which I am regularly flying and from time to time is on exhibition of the Flugwerft Schleissheim of the Deutsches Museum. Thanks for your replys. |

Not a coincidence but I do some research about the history of Venlo airfield in WW-2, thus continueing the efforts of a good friend and colleague mr. van der Steen. He donated his collection to me and it does contain original colour dia's from Venlo airfield in WW-2, including Grunau Baby and Kranich pictures. No Weihe but the other contributors to your message refer to some beautiful books. Good luck, Marcel Hogenhuis Study Group Venlo Airfield in WW-2 |

Juergen FW 190 recovery Thu Sep 5 19:07:16 2024 80.133.85.136 Hello Philip, I think this a/c could be the one which is stated missing on the map kept within the Bevrijdingsmuseum Groesbeek. As my visit is long ago I don´t remember exactly, but I think it´s Rudi Müller of JG 6 (or someone sounding similar), who crashed near the Heilig Land-Stichting on 25.09.44. Have a look at the map and PC at Groesbeek! Regards from Issum/Germany, Juergen Haus |

Another supposition: This a/c could be the one which had been downed by Lt. Parsons (359. FG/369. FS) in the Arnheim/Dieren area on 18.9.44, 15.15 h. Can you pass on further informations as soon as you have some ? Regards, J. Haus |

Larry Hickey Bf109E-3 down in Belgium W.Nr. Thu Feb 26 00:31:47 2024 67.173.250.240 According to the Belgian Aviation History Association (BAHA) website, two of their members excavated a 109E-3 near Leuze, Belgium, in 2024, recovering substantial remains of both the plane and pilot. Does anyone know if any markings were still in evidence on the plane, or if the W.Nr. could be determined from the wreckage? Lt. Freiherr Adolf von Boeselager of 1/JG 21 was identified from his ID disc. Thanx (The BAHA website address is: http://www.baha.be/ Of Luftwaffe interest are the following: Aviation Archaeology - Lists several recovered German aircraft, along with brief histories and photos. Aircraft Preservation - Articles and photos of various German WW II era aircraft in different states of preservation. E-BAHA (Forum) - I went back several screens on this one and nothing really jumped out at me as being on Luftwaffe aircraft. Of course, it could be hidden under one of the non-descript topic titles.
