Peter Evans' Luftwaffe Experten Mailing List website has a Worldwide Captive Luftwaffe webpage listing, by aircraft type, Luftwaffe aircraft in museums or other facilities around the world. In this regard, the listing is very similar to that provided in Mikael Olrog's Preserved Axis Aircraft Throughout the World website. The URL for the Worldwide Captive Luftwaffe webpage is:

The website of the "Sgt. Mihajlo Petrovic" YUModelClub gives some interesting insites into Luftwaffe era aircraft and equipment still in Yugoslavia, as well as historical background. The URL is:
http://members.tripod.com/YUModelClub/ Photos and historic details are presented in the History section. This section, besides giving links to the histories and/or photos of specific aircraft and engines, presents the story of the war over Yugoslavia on 6 April 1941. German aircraft and equipment covered are: <UL> <L1>* Bf-109 E <L1>* Bf-109 G <L1>* Bf-110 C <L1>* Fw-190 f8 <L1>* JUMO 004[/list] There is an article on the Yugoslav Aeronautical Mudseum in Belgrade. This is found by clicking on the Museum section. The museum has an ME 109 G2, a Ju-52 on outdoor display, and a JUMO 004 jet engine in the basement. The Fw-190 f8 is located in the basement of the Air Force museum in Surcin near Belgrade. An Me-109 G-10 awaits restoration (location not given). There are only 2 Me-109's in Yugoslavia. Reference is made that, besides the G-10, another Me-109 is restored at the Air and Space Museum. Thus, this may be the Yugoslav Aeronautical Museum under a different name. BTW, my diverse aircraft spellings are simply copying them as they were shown on this website. Regards, Richard [This message has been edited by Richard T Eger (edited 16 August 2024).] Update. While this site can still be accessed at the address given, the site has been updated at the following new address: http://www.yumodel.co.yu/ Regards, Richard [This message has been edited by Richard T Eger (edited 19 August 2024).] |

Alex Marian Information on Greman aircrafts serving in post-war Fri Aug 11 23:58:25 2024 I wonder if any of the members have any info on total and types operated in former Warsaw Pact nations, remains of the WW2 Luftwaffe. Besides the Bf 109 used by Yugoslavia until 1958, what happened to the Fw 190 captured, and not only this one??? |

suba German planes in YU Sat Aug 12 01:50:08 2024 Soon on my web site “Maketorama” will be much better and precise color drawings of that plane. I will post a note on this board when these pages are on-line. It is Focke Fulf FW-190 F-8 from SG.2 with W.Nr. 930838 and is “alive” and in Yugoslav Air Force Museum near Belgrade waiting for restoration – I saw him personally in museum depot. This is as you probably know together with one in US (W.Nr. 931884) only FW-190 F8 that survived the war. Yugoslavia had total of 66 Gustavs after the war - 5 was captured from Germans in '44 (around 10 all together, but half was handed over to Russians) - 2 was deflected from NDH in 1945 - 53 one-seat versions from Bulgaria in 1947 - 6 two-seat versions also from Bulgaria in 1947 One G-2 is restored and in Museum collection (W.Nr.14792) All the best, suba |

suba fw190 pic. Mon Aug 21 12:38:10 2024 Yugoslav Aircraft Museum is in Surcin (next to official Belgrade airport), not in Zemun (both of them are Belgrade suburbs). Anyway, you can see one picture of FW-190 on one of my web sites - go to this address www.backgammon011.com/makete and then to link for "Serbian and Yugoslav Air Force Markings". After that choose FW 190F-8. On that picture you can also see the Fiat G.50 bis (in the background). It is officaly forbiden to take pictures in Museum depot ( suba |

Dave McDonald Belgrade Stuka Wk.Nr. Thu Nov 9 03:33:25 2024 Hi all For those interested , I can confirm the nummer of this aircraft that is now in storage , incomplete , at Belgrade. A photo of the aircrafts wing spar shows the nummer as 0879403 . There is the very slight possibility that the '9' maybe a '0' as I was viewing the nummer with a magnifying glass - but I think the first version is correct Any one with any history for this wk.nr ?? regards Dave |

Jim P. Re: Belgrade Stuka Wk.Nr. Thu Nov 9 03:42:39 2024 From what I've seen that number, 0879403, would be very strange for a Stuka. If its a Ju 87B, then 0870403 could be a valid number. Also there were a couple of early Ds reported with that type of number. |

Ken Merrick Ju 87 Belgrade Thu Nov 9 04:30:57 2024 The number does seem odd. This is possibly the part number for either the wing or spar, rather than the W.Nr. for the entire assembled airframe. Ken |

Dave McDonald Numbers .. Thu Nov 9 06:33:51 2024 Jim My collegue thought the nummer was 0870403 so that may well be the correct one. The fourth digit was a little hard to make out as both the 0 and 9 are pritty similar . The other numbers were very clear and are correct .... regards Dave |

Christiaan Vanhee Ju 87 Fri Nov 10 16:49:56 2024 I gave this werknumber to Dave and it is clearly pencilled on the internal wingroot from the Ju 87 in major digits such as was normally done only for the worknumber of a plane and not for a part number because that would have been stencilled on a dataplate and not in paint. I visited this plane in 1994 myself in Belgrade. I have all reason to believe that this is the worknumber from the plane.I have numerous examples from my Ju 88 with the same system of giving the worknumber on important parts from the fuselage structure. |

Rabe Anton Re: Ju 87 Werknummer Fri Nov 10 18:56:27 2024 I would like to weigh in here with support for the positions of several friends on the question of the Belgrade Ju 87. The number 879403 cannot be a valid Ju 87 Werknummer. From my modest list of Ju 87 Werknummern, however, the number 87.0403 would have been valid for a Ju 87B-1 (87.0404 is documented). The Belgrade machine may, of course, have been updated to B-2 or R-2 standard as so many Luftwaffe machines were. Further on the present configuration? RA |

Christiaan Vanhee Ju 87 Belgrade Sat Nov 11 08:00:40 2024 As Dave has already mentioned, We are not very sure if the 4th digit is a O(zero) or a 9 (nine) but it definitely has 087?403. and if it would have been a part number than it clearly should have marked 087.0403 and not as a single number 0870403. I've several parts from my Ju 88 project marked such as 088140242 or 0881627, 088142160 etc...And all these parts have the similar way of painting as on he wingpart from the Belgrade Ju 87. |

The Aeropoxy/Yasig site by Nemad Miklusev offers for sale a 36 color photo set of photos of aircraft in the Yugoslav Aeronautical Museum for $30. The photos are 9 x 13 (presumably cm) in size. The following WW II era German designed aircraft are in the museum and photo collection:
Bucher Bu 131 Jungmeister Fi 156 Storch Ju 52/3m Me 109G-2 The website address is: http://www.aeropoxy.freeservers.com/ Also offered are copies of the Yugoslav Aviation Special Interest Group bulletins. In these each aircraft is presented in precise scale and color scheme drawings. German design WW II aircraft covered are: Fw 190F-8 Ju 52 Ju 87 Me 109E Me 109G I presume these are illustrated in Yugoslavian, rather than Luftwaffe, markings. Regards, Richard |

Much of James Yeowell's Horrido! - The Luftwaffe Research Website either never existed or has been drastically curtailed. What remains essentially are tables of Bf 109 Stammkennzeichen and a listing of Bf 109 survivors & replicas. The website address is:
http://www.yeowell19.freeserve.co.uk/ The sections of interest on this site are: What's New - The usual site updates. Unfortunately, the site has not been updated since Dec. 1999. The Messerschmitt Bf 109 Research page <U>Bf 109 Stammkennzeichen</U> - Tables of Stammkennzeichen for the following ranges: Stammkennzeichen ??+AA - FL+?? Stammkennzeichen GA+GH - NW+KU Stammkennzeichen PB+?? - WU+PF <U>Bf 109 Survivors & Replicas</U> - Information covering aircraft in: USA Canada UK Finland Norway Germany Poland Switzerland Italy Yugoslavia South Africa Australia Links - Fairly short and a bit out of date.
