- Trying to identify how lancaster LL797 626 Squadron came to crash at Marsal France on 24/2/44, and link it with luftwaffe claims. Not easy.Some believe night fighter, others quote "DCA", but info comes from word of mouth over the years. Thoroughly confused by map grid references used by VON-BONIN that night - if accurate no corresponding record of claims/crash locations appear. Will be doing other such research for boys of school killed with RAFVR during war (glutton for punishment!)
