Default Oudna AFB, Tunis

My father's B-24 was shot down on October 1, 1943, just after bombing Wiener Neustadt, Austria. He took off that morning from the Oudna AFB, Tunis.

Could anyone give me any history on the base?
Does anyone know what's there today?

Thanks,

Tyler Bridges

The base was remodelated by the USAAF in 1943.

It kind of well conserved. You can look at it with Google Earth, dispersions and runway are clearly visible.
