In Flypast there is a picture of the recovery of a FW 190 Dora by Archaeology Team of the Belgian Aviation History Association

http://users.pandora.be/airwareurope/en/bahaat_e.htm

The remains were recovered from a Marsh and at least look like an aircraft (compared to some I have seen!)

see: http://users.pandora.be/airwareurope...lf_waasm_e.htm

for some pictures

The article says this aircraft is 500093 of Fw Paul Deutschmann of Staffel 9 of JG 54. Which was shot down on Jan 1st 1945 during operation Bodenplatte

However, In Battle of the Airfields by Norman Franks

FW190 D-9 500093 is listed as being Yellow 13 of Ogfr. Dieter Kraegeloh of Staffel 3 of JG 26 (POW)

Fw, Paul Deutschmann of Staffel 9 of JG 54 is supposed to be flying FW190 D-9 210102 White 3 (POW)

So is the book wrong with the werknummer? There cannot be any doubt on the aircraft being Deutschmann 's.

Interesting the web site does not mention a werknummer!

Paul
