It moved, but the site is not yet up.
The new adress is : http://therapist109.tripod.com/home.html
I may help there in a near future when i'm finished with a study on the german piston engines.

Olivier.

Just as Olivier says...
Wed Oct 10 14:23:23 2024

I've agreed to take over administration of the site from Vincent...unfortunately, he has too many time constraints to continue "holding down the fort", so to speak. He's done a fantastic job, and is sending me tons of information to format and put online. The format has changed, as well...Gael Elegoet (I sure hope I spelled your last name right, Gael! :P) has created some wonderful graphics for the site, and it will be navigated via frames. There are also two separate forums, one for historical discussions and one for technical discussions...I'm also uploading my "Black 6" cockpit photos as well as some Emil photos I had over on DetailSITE. There's an awful lot to put together, and while the very basic framework is up at the address listed by Olivier, there is no content as yet. I expect that to change by tonight, I've got the day off and will be working on uploading some of the content today, including activating the forums. Feel free to contact me offboard with any further questions you might have at jagdflieger109@yahoo.com!

Thanks,

Lynn

PS, Vincent is *still* Doc109, not me!

The 109 Lair is taking shape! Finally...
Sun Oct 14 22:39:49 2024

And before I go any further, it's still a mess in the Lair right now, I've got some more stuff to upload which I inadverdently left at home (I'm at work right now)...however, the Tech Forum is back up and running, with no loss of the previous postings. I'm going to have to work on the backgrounds also...somehow they don't show up nearly as well in the public realm as they did when testing it at home (sigh). The article links will be back up in the next day or so, followed by the photo references. In the meantime, stop on by to have a look at the new format, and please let me know what you think! Suggestions and submissions of articles, photo refs, etc. are welcome!

More updates added to The 109 Lair...
Tue Oct 30 22:18:11 2024

For those who are interested, I've now uploaded the walkarounds for the following aircraft to the newly relaunched and redesigned 109 Lair:

- W.Nr. 10132 Bf109F-4/trop, ex-Carganico (does anyone have any more shots of this aircraft they would like to share?)
- W.Nr. 10639 Bf109G-2/trop, ex-Lüdemann (Black 6)- cockpit details
- W.Nr. 163306 Bf109G-6, ex-Pleines (Red 3)
- W.Nr. 167271 Bf109G-14 Finnish AF (MT-507)

Of course, any further additions are welcomed! I've also redone quite a bit on the Technical Forum format as well...please have a look and offer your opinion!

Do you know...
Tue Oct 30 22:27:21 2024

that shortly before he passed away, in an interview with 'Jagerblatt', Eduard Isken commented on how he wanted to get to England to see his old plane? He was refering of course to 'black 6'. Its seems that this was actually his machine and the Ludemann just happened to be flying it on the day of the reported incident which led to its capture.

Where is URL for JG 54 Me-109F Color Footage?
Thu Mar 14 20:22:07 2024
165.155.160.41

My most prized download over the internet has become corrupted! Beautiful COLOR Footage of Me-109s -apparently JG 54 Fs in Russia in the summer of 41 or 42. A Schwarm flies in formation and manuevers around the camera plane against a deep blue sky. Mechanics work on the engine and buff down the surface of the an unidentified ace's (5 bar markings) light brown and dark green mottled aircraft to a sheen. Could anyone identify the URL. If I recall it was a non-english Me-109 site, but I could be wrong. Any help in this regard would be most appreciated.

Thanks to all!

I saved it and have uploaded it...
Fri Mar 15 18:32:58 2024
209.97.5.125

onto the Lair for folks to enjoy. Here's the link:

http://109lair.hobbyvista.com/multimedia/109color1.avi

Please note you will need a DIVx 4 (IIRC) plugin ( available from www.download.com ) to view the file in its present format. I've also made screenshots from the footage and cleaned them up a little; they're on the new Wartime Color pages on www.109lair.com .

Remember, this is a fairly big file, so if you're on dialup you're gonna have a bit of a wait!

As per Frappe (La Luftwaffe En France....), Wrk. Nr. 413601 ("Black 7"), piloted by Uffz. Jakob Vogel (8./Jg 1) was lost on 22 July 44. The book has identified the aircraft as a G-6. However, Wrk. Nr. block listings as per Prien/Rodeike puts it squarely in the G-14 category.

The a/c wasn't an G-14 but an G-6. The first "official" G-14 from Erla came from the 460xxx-batch, with some G-14 in the 413xxx-batch, but these W.Nr. was an G-6 (from bureaucratically sight).

Best regards

Since the RAF got the aircraft, complete with maker's plate, I imagine they should be capable of reading the correct mark of the aircraft off that.

There are 2 photos of the aircraft in Prien's "JG 1 and 11: Part 2" page 1081.
