4 FG over Budapest July 2, 1944
Tue Jan 30 17:17:10 2024

4 Fg ran into a buzzsaw on this mission. Has anyone done any analysis of this action, in particular the Luftwaffe and Hungarian AF units they would have faced?

Also, Kidd Hofer's crash site was near Mostar, in Bosnia. Has it been determined that he was downed there or had been damaged earlier and crashed trying to return to
Italy?

Kid Hoffers crash
Sat Feb 3 18:01:56 2024

I found some information in Yugoslav Military Archive on Kid Hofer. According to croatian documents he was shot down by flak and he fell with his airplane onto flak posting,
and killed some flak crews. The report does not say anything about height he flew on or if his plane was already damaged.
