From TOCH!:
Dave Brown Arado 234 C-3 Wed Jan 14 00:22:12 2024 24.50.218.28 Jose: W.Nr.250006 belonged to an Arado 234C-3 that was captured by the US Army in 1945. There are several pictures of this aircraft in a book entitled "Arado 234 Blitz" by J.Richard Smith & Eddie J. Creek. Although the national markings can be seen, I cannot see any unit codes. According to the book, "..it is thought that nineteen AR234 C-3s were completed before the end of the war, the last one shown in photographs is the W.Nr. 250012." This implies that the W.Nr. series for the C-3's were coded 2500XX. Hope this helps. |

Robert Schulte Arado ar 234 C-3 Sun Dec 5, 2024 17:58 217.83.41.78 Hi Tim, in the list of Werknummern in Manfred Griehl's book "Strahljäger Arado Ar 234" there are 16 C-3 planes with Werknummern: 250 001 through 250 016 (there is a 250 088, I guess this is a typo), none of them with a known code and only 6 of them, from which some few data are known. At least these 6 planes seem to be never used operationally. Quote from page 63: "The first Ar 234 C-3 (WerkNr. 250 001) was test flown in Alt-Lönnewitz on 30.1.1945. The next, already slightly modified C-3 (WerkNr. 250 002) was flown by Werkspilot Günther Eheim in Alt-Lönnewitz as late as March 1945. At least 4 more C-3 can be proven by registrations in Flugbücher or by photos. Until mid of April 1945 approximately 12 more C-3 cells could be finished. Missing engines and equipment parts prevented a delivery to the units." No mentioning of operational use at all. Hope this helps, Robert |

Tim G 234 C-3 Mon Dec 6, 2024 11:36 136.159.123.129 Thanks Robert, This does help a bit, there seems to be some conflicting opinions about whether or not any actually saw service, but nothing definitive from what I can find. Your reply is much appreciated. |
