Hi Nicholas,

I searched the German war graves commission database at www.volksbund.de, and found the following entry, which I assume is your maternal grandfather:

Alfons Warzinsky, missing since 1 March 1945
Born: 09.05.1914
Death/Missing date: 01.03.1945
Death/Missing location: Königsberg/Ellakrug/Molchengen/Nautzken

Those locations are in the former German East Prussia.

As a family member you could contact WASt, and see if you can receive more details about his Wehrmacht service: http://www.dd-wast.de/frame_e.htm

All the best,
Andrew A.
