JG 2 loss list
Tue May 23 15:24:50 2025

As I was sorting my files the other day I found an incomplet loss list of JG2. I must have downloaded it from an internet site. It apears that something went wrong
during the download, as the file isn't complet. I have tried to find that site again but hadn't successed. The author of the list is a sertain W.J.A. Wood. Does anyone
know where this loss list can be downloaded?

Best regards,
Tomislav

Go to www.ww2.dk (http://www.ww2.dk). Scroll down to Tony Wood on the left side and choose JG2 Loss List. Also there is a JG2 Victory list to go along with it

The list can be found on Michael Holms Luftwaffe site at: http://www.ww2.dk/
under the "Woods" pick. You need Excel to download it.

JG 2 were particularly bad at recording their losses. They lost 18 ac in between 10 May and 22 Jun 40 and only Lt Heinz Hoffmann of 2/JG 2 was lost near Roye on 6 Jun
40

Hello Chris.

Thank you for your answer.

I look for in particular the losses of German Fighters in the morning of 7th june 1940 in Normandy where 3 Polish pilots in Bloch 152 were shot down early morning 2 by
Bretnütz and Baun (both JG 53) and the last by Rudolf Taschner of I/JG 2 at the same hour. A fourth Polish fighter (Sztramko in Bl152) shot down a BF 109 I look for the
unit of this 109.

Is it possible to know if at this time JG 53 and 2 flew together some missions? ?

I must congratulate for your last book (At Crecy)about German Fighters very nice book easy to read. and a old one that I liked very much Brothers in Arms.

best regards

Many

I should be grateful if anyone could help me find details of attacks on the shipping of the invasion fleet during the Normandy landings in June 1944.

I am particularly interested in attacks that took place during the night of 12/13th June and on 22nd June on shipping supporting the landings on Juno Beach.
