I Understand Heinz Kreichert was shot down off Oran in the while attacking Convoy KMS 31 on 11 11 1943
Unit was KG.26
Ended up a POW
What ultimatly happened to this pilot ?
Did he survive the war ?
Am Interested in any information on this attack.
KG100 also involved I believe.

Uffz Heinz Kreichert was wounded in this attack but was one of three surviviors of his crew to be taken POW. Sorry, don't know his ultimate fate.

Seventeen Ju 88 of III/KG 26 (including Kreichert) took off to attack as well as 23 He 111 of I/KG 26 and 16 Do 217s of II/KG 40. Forty-eight of these a/c reached the convoy. Four transports were sunk and the attackers lost seven aircraft.

Kreichert flew 1H+IT an aircraft of 9/KG 26 though he belonged to 7/KG 26. He was hit by AA in the left engine and crashed.
